Navigation Round trip Serrano River (Paine Massif, Tyndall Glacier, Serrano Glacier)
Our navigation starts at “Hotel del Paine” located in Villa Serrano, Torres del Paine. From there, we begin to navigate the Serrano River in speedboats. After 30 minutes of travel, we arrive at the impressive waterfall of the Serrano River. Then, we walk for 15 minutes through a beautiful native forest to board the second boat.
Our next stop will be the Última Esperanza fjord, where we disembark in the Bernardo O’Higgins National Park for a hike of approximately 30 minutes. During this tour, we admire the majestic Serrano glacier lagoon, located at the foot of the imposing Balmaceda hill. We take a break to have a snack and recharge our batteries before starting our return trip upstream. On the way back, we will have the opportunity to observe the impressive southern ice field from the Tyndall viewpoint, an experience that will leave us speechless. Finally, we return to the dock to conclude our adventure (with the option of enjoying a comforting lunch at the Hotel del Paine).
We leave at 7:00 a.m. from the 21 de Mayo Tourist Office to set sail at 7:30 a.m. from Puerto Bories. We sail through the impressive Última Esperanza Fjord and visit the spectacular Balmaceda Glacier, then head to the imposing Serrano Glacier located in Bernardo O’Higgins National Park. After a snack, we boarded Zodiac boats and sailed upriver on the majestic Serrano River. During the trip, we enjoyed the impressive view of the southern ice fields and glaciers that stretch for about 40 kilometers, connecting the fjord with Torres del Paine National Park. These glaciers are fed by the melting of the Grey, Tyndall, Geike, and Balmaceda glaciers. On the way, we pass by the Tyndall Glacier viewpoint, which is part of the majestic Southern Ice Field. Then, we arrive at the spectacular Serrano River waterfall, where we disembark and walk about 15 minutes through the native forest until we find the second boat. Finally, we arrive at Torres del Paine and enjoy a delicious lunch at the Hotel del Paine, after having lived an unforgettable experience.
