PDI Immigration Information

Tourist Card & 19% VAT Exemption

Upon entering Chile, the Investigative Police (PDI) provides international travelers with a Tourist Card (Tarjeta Única Migratoria). This paper slip is vital and must be safely kept with your passport throughout your entire journey.

Presenting this valid Tourist Card grants international visitors an exemption from Chile's 19% VAT (IVA) on lodging and designated hospitality services. If not presented, the 19% tax surcharge must be charged as required by law.

Guest Registration & Risk Acknowledgment

Mandatory Liability Waiver

Under Chilean adventure tourism regulations, all guests are required to fill out and sign the Guest Registration & Risk Acknowledgment Form (Waiver) prior to joining any excursion or checking in at backcountry lodges.

In compliance with Executive Decree No. 222 (2010) of the Ministry of Economy, Development, and Tourism regarding adventure tourism standards and remote park accommodations.

This digital or physical waiver must be completed individually by every traveler before beginning any trekking circuit or expedition with Vertice in Torres del Paine.
