If you enjoy trekking and nature, you must live this experience, which will take you to one of the places with the best view of the Torres del Paine. Our trip will begin at 06:30 a.m. in summer months (07:00 a.m. in winter) from Puerto Natales. We will travel by vehicle to the northern sector of the park, arriving at the access called Laguna Amarga. At this site we will carry out the proper registration with our entrance tickets and then continue to the starting point of the activity located in Reserva Cerro Paine. At this point we will dedicate ourselves to preparing our equipment and receiving prior instructions from the guide in charge of the group. Our guide will explain to us the proper use of trekking poles as well as the installation of crampons and gaiters if necessary. These last elements are considered for the winter season in case there is presence of snow and ice on the route. The first hour and 30 minutes will be a constant ascent, with some areas of minor inclination and low vegetation to reach the “Paso de los Vientos”, from here we will begin a descent of approximately 30 minutes towards the Chilean Refuge for a brief rest. The journey continues for 1 hour through Lenga forests parallel to the Ascencio River, a river that we will cross at various points and that will accompany us for much of the route. The last section has a slope of 300 meters and challenging terrain with rocks and some forest in the first 25 minutes. The final stretch is an exposed trail with no vegetation, on looser terrain and with a view towards the final section of the valley gaining height quickly. Once the objective has been achieved, in front of the imposing towers, we will take the necessary time to eat, take photographs and contemplate. The descent and return to the vehicle are done along the same path.
