You should plan your arrival with a flight scheduled to land in Punta Arenas no later than 2:00 PM on day 1 of the itinerary. The same deadline applies to travelers arriving directly at the hotel on day 1. That afternoon, all travelers must attend a mandatory briefing on safety, rules and recommendations about Antarctica, and an information session covering important practical details. You will also receive advice on the different sizes of your expedition boots and the delivery process. Participation in these activities is essential for the success of the expedition. Travelers who do not meet the 2:00 PM arrival deadline will be considered “no-show”. They will not be able to participate in the expedition and will not receive any refund.

Remember that scheduling connections with tight times is never advisable when traveling to remote places with limited services. Protect your investment by traveling with enough additional time in case of baggage delivery inconveniences, flight delays, etc. If your flight to Punta Arenas is delayed for reasons beyond your control, we will do our best to wait for your arrival. However, we cannot assume any responsibility for the resulting complications, including the inability to join the expedition. We recommend covering this risk by purchasing a travel interruption and cancellation insurance policy.

It is strongly recommended that any travel plan made for the last day of the expedition does not start until late afternoon, and that you purchase a flexible air ticket for your return home, in case you have to change your travel plan due to a delay in returning from Antarctica.
