ITINERARY

Day 1: Catamaran - Hike to Grey

Today your adventure begins. You will leave early from your hotel in Puerto Natales, in a private transfer that will take you to the bus station. From this place the bus will depart to Torres del Paine National Park, exactly to Pudeto to board the Hielos Patagónicos catamaran, which will sail for approximately 35 minutes across Lake Pehoé, arriving directly to the Paine Grande refuge. From here begins the hike to Grey.

Begin the journey through a narrow and winding valley that leads to Laguna Los Patos. As you continue on, you will begin to see parts of the immense Southern Ice Field, as well as the ice floes of Grey Lake. After passing the sometimes very windy viewpoint, the trail descends through a mountainous forest until you reach the Grey Refuge. From here, if you continue walking for about 10 minutes, you will reach the Grey Glacier Viewpoint, where you will come face to face with one of the arms of the Southern Ice Field. Dinner will be served at the refuge between 19:00 and 21:00 hrs.

Day 2: Free day in Grey

For an unforgettable view of the Grey Glacier, this day you can reserve 3 – 4 hours in the morning (round trip) past the refuge in the direction of the famous hanging bridges. It is by far the best viewpoint of the Glacier. Besides contemplating the impressive ice, you can see the depths of the ravines formed by the rivers and waterfalls that come from the Cordón Olguín. If you are lucky, you will be able to see ice falling from the glacier into the cold waters of Grey Lake. In the afternoon you can do one of the activities such as ice hiking or kayaking on Grey Glacier. Enjoy dinner at the lodge between 19 and 21 hrs.

Day 3: Hike from Grey to Paine Grande

In case you didn’t get to visit the hanging bridges the day before, you can take the morning to go and explore the spectacular panoramic views of Grey Glacier. Or do some of the Grey Glacier Ice Trekking and Kayaking activities.

Today you will hike the same trail back to Paine Grande.

At 18:35 hrs. you must take the catamaran that will take you back to Pudeto, where you will board the regular bus at 19:15 hrs. to Puerto Natales.
