The excursion departs from Puerto Natales, beginning with passenger pick-up at their accommodations, and travels through two of Torres del Paine National Park’s four entrances. This scenic route provides an exceptional view of the park, ideal for wildlife observation. Upon entering the park through the Lago Sarmiento gate, we will start our path with a side view of the imposing Sarmiento Lake bordering private lands, a common hunting area for the largest predator in the region, the Puma. This species is found in Torres del Paine National Park and its main source of food, the Guanaco. After a one-hour walk, we will arrive at an overhang where it is possible to observe a series of cave paintings dating back more than 6,000 years, a place frequented by groups of hunters known as one of the first populations that arrived in Patagonia. At this site, we will be able to take pictures of the surroundings and learn a little more about the local history. The activity continues towards Blanquillos Lagoon, the nesting and feeding place of different species of endemic birds of Patagonia such as ducks, caiquenes, and black-necked swans, always with a frontal view of the Paine Mountain range. After about 2 hours of walking, we will arrive at the main access to Torres del Paine National Park: Laguna Amarga gateway. After a stop for the use of services, we will return to the vehicle to go to a little-known sector where the waters of the Paine River, coming from the Dickson glacier, increase its flow with a great concentration of minerals and sediments. We are referring to the Paine Waterfall. In this place, we will have free time to enjoy our box lunch with a frontal view of the granite towers among Ñirre bushes. The journey continues to Cañadón Macho, an area where it is possible to observe large groups of guanacos that coexist with species such as the Ñandú, Grey Fox, Condor, and Eagle, among others. After completing the journey through this vast valley, we’ll begin the return to Puerto Natales, where the excursion officially concludes with each passenger being dropped off at their respective accommodations.
