Located on the Andean high plateau in Northeastern Chile, San Pedro de Atacama is a top destination for travelers from all over the world! Featuring adobe houses and a tranquil town rich in ancient culture, this unique region is home to some of the most amazing natural landscapes on Earth. Moon-like canyons, transparent salt flats, native wildlife, guzzling geysers and soaring volcanoes will surprise everyone who has the opportunity to visit!

World renowned for their astronomical observatories and for hosting the driest desert in the world, San Pedro de Atacama is the starting point for many unforgettable adventures! Whether it be climbing an active volcano, hiking through unworldly landscapes, contemplating crystal-clear, starry skies or snapping photographs of unique flora and fauna, this region has activities for all!

The Surrounding Beauty

Set just outside of San Pedro de Atacama is Los Flamencos National Reserve. Home to several flamingo species, high-altitude lagoons, diverse wildlife and impressive rock formations, this natural oasis is a must-see while visiting the Atacama Desert. One of the highlights of the reserve are the famous Altiplano Lagoons, Miscanti and Meñiques. These high-altitude lagoons are set at 4,500mts and are known for their vibrant shades of mountain colors. Wildlife observation is also common throughout the reserve as several lagoons nourish the local flora and fauna. It is possible to spot vicuñas, Andean foxes, rheas, condors and flamingos (among others) roaming in their natural habitat.

Another main attraction is the famed El Tatio Geyser. Known for being one of the highest geothermal fields in the world, El Tatio Geyser is most dramatic at sunrise when the first streams of light cascade over its magnificent landscape. Here, you can witness gurgling geysers and high stream fumaroles, sometimes reaching up to 10mts from the earth’s surface! Afterwards, you can relax in one of the nearby hot springs, a gorgeous place to unwind and observe the endless beauty that surrounds you.

For the more adventurous, make sure to check out the Hidden Lagoons of Baltinache. These crystalline and turquoise lagoons are not only stunning, but also offer an afternoon of tranquility and rejuvenation. Due to their high salt content, you can enjoy an energizing float through two of these delightful lagoons!

The natural beauty of the Atacama Desert is infinite! You’ll be blown away by exquisite views of the nearby Lascar and Licancabur volcanoes, sparkling blue skies, multi-colored salt flats, distinctive flora and fauna, and tremendous natural wonders.

We invite you to come and visit these extravagant and beautiful landscapes and experience what it’s like to be in the most arid desert in the world!
