  • Every day. Consider that the excursion to Pingüineras only takes place from November to March, from April to September operates Full Day excursion Chiloé: Castro and Dalcahue.
  • For the correct realization of the program, the flight on the day of departure must be from 18:00 hrs onwards, since the excursion ends at 14:00 hrs. Another option is to reserve an additional night.

Day 1: Arrival in Puerto Varas and accommodation at Hotel Park Inn by Radisson or similar.

Arrival at Puerto Montt airport and transfer to hotel in Puerto Varas. Free day to explore the city. Accommodation at the Radisson Park Inn by Radisson.

Day 2: Full Day Chiloe: Castro and Dalcahue or Full Day Ancud, Caulin and Pinguineras.

Option 1: Full Day Chiloé Castro and Dalcahue

Discover the essence of Chiloé on our unmissable tour that will take you to explore Chacao, Quemchi, Aucar, Dalcahue, and Castro. Immerse yourself in the culture and traditions of this fascinating island, marvel at its captivating landscapes, and let yourself be seduced by the magic of each destination. You’ll leave early from Puerto Varas, on the way to the town of Pargua, where you’ll board a ferry to navigate through the Chacao Channel, which separates the mainland from the Big Island of Chiloé. During the navigation, you will be able to observe sea lions, pelicans, and typical marine birds of this region. Upon arriving in Chacao, you can observe typical Alerce wood constructions and also the San Antonio de Chacao church, then continue the tour along the route of the inner sea, the western route of the island that will take you to the town of Quemchi. In this place, you will visit its beautiful coast, which writer Francisco Coloane named as the commune of the 1000 landscapes. Afterwards, we will pass to a wonderful place; Aucar, the Island of the Sailing Souls, which we can enter through a 430-meter wooden bridge. Subsequently, you will head towards Dalcahue (city located in front of the Quinchao Island) and its waterfront features a gastronomic and craft market with a spectacular view. You will visit the fair and walk towards the Church of Our Lady of Sorrows, a typical Chilote construction that is part of the World Heritage. You will continue the journey to the city of Castro, the capital of the Big Island of Chiloé; making a stop to take photographs in the Palafitos (houses where the pillars are arranged over the water), you will visit the San Francisco Church in front of the city square and its craft market. Option 2. Full Day Ancud, Caulin and Pinguineras. (November to March)

Embark on an unforgettable adventure on the island of Chiloé with our excursion to Ancud, Caulin, and the Puñihuil Penguin Colonies. Discover the rich natural and marine biodiversity, admire the beauty of the penguins in their habitat, and enjoy the serenity of Caulin. You will depart from Puerto Varas towards the village of Pargua, where we will board a ferry to navigate through the Chacao Channel, which separates the mainland from the Big Island of Chiloé. During the navigation (45 minutes), you will be able to observe sea lions, pelicans, and typical marine birds of this region.

You will arrive in the village of Chacao, where you can observe typical Alerce wood constructions and also visit the San Antonio de Chacao church. After this, you will continue towards the Caulin sector, where there is an intertidal wetland that provides food for various types of birds throughout the year, such as Black-necked Swans, Herons, and Flamingos (the latter in winter periods). You will arrive at Puñihuil beach, where you will board a boat that will take you to the islets where the Magellanic and Humboldt penguins can be found (40 minutes of navigation). It is worth mentioning that this area was declared a National Monument due to its ecological importance. Then you will visit the city of Ancud, where you can visit the Local Museum, the Municipal Market, and the Fort of San Antonio; a historical site located in the upper part of the city, built at the end of the 18th century, and which forms part of one of the last Spanish fortifications in our country. Día 3: Excursión Volcán Osorno y Saltos del Petrohué.

Discover the perfect trilogy in PN Vicente Perez Rosales: the adventure of the Osorno Volcano, the beauty of the Petrohué Waterfalls, and the turquoise color of Lake Todos Los Santos. Immerse yourself in dreamlike landscapes, connect with nature, and marvel at every moment. You will depart from Puerto Varas towards the Osorno Volcano, bordering Lake Llanquihue, you will enjoy a beautiful postcard with the snowy volcanoes Osorno and Calbuco in the background, until you reach the Ensenada sector from where you will start the ascent to the Osorno Volcano Ski and Mountain Center, located at 1,240 meters above sea level. In this place, you will be around for an hour where there will be time to enjoy the landscape, take photographs, and appreciate an unparalleled view of the summit of the volcanoes with their eternal snow glaciers, Calbuco, Lake Llanquihue and the Pacific Ocean. Optionally you can enjoy a coffee or some snack in the cafeteria of the place (not included) or take the lifts to ascend to 1,450 meters high in the Primavera Station or to 1,750 meters in the Glacier Station from where you can observe a wonderful and impressive view of Lake Llanquihue.

You will begin the descent towards the Ensenada sector where you will make a stop for lunch. After lunch, you will head towards Los Saltos de Petrohué, you will appreciate one of the most iconic sites of the sector, the viewpoint of the “Saltos del Petrohué”, where the river (of the same name) appears between large masses of crystallized lava, immune for centuries to erosion and formed by smaller stones joined by a vitreous material that stands out to the eye, an unmissable place. (This tour lasts around 30 min.). You will head towards the Port of Petrohué, located on the shores of Lake Todos Los Santos. Optionally within the stipulated time in this sector, you can take a 30-minute navigation through the lake bay (not included) or take a gentle walk along the shore of the Lake, all surrounded by an evergreen forest, the majesty of the Osorno Volcano, and the spectacular turquoise color of the Petrohué River. Accommodation at Radisson Park Inn by Radisson.

Day 4: Excursion to Frutillar, Llanquihue and Puerto Octay and transfer to the airport.

Discover the fascinating Route of Llanquihue, Frutillar, and Puerto Octay, immerse yourself in the history of charming villages, stories of hard-working German settlers, marvel at the beauty of Lake Llanquihue, and enjoy its exquisite pastries. A tour that will captivate you with its charm and invite you to live unforgettable moments.

The excursion starts from Puerto Varas to head to the city of Llanquihue, famous for its sausages and the place of origin of the Maullín River, part of the old Route of the Settlers. In the city we will visit Los Cisnes Beach and the Pier which has a beautiful view of the Lake and the Volcanoes. Then we will border Lake Llanquihue to head towards Frutillar. This city is a beautiful village with reminiscences of Bavaria, where its first settlers come from. It emerged in 1856 as a shipping dock, with tanneries, mills, breweries, etc. soon appearing. We will walk around its beautiful old German-style houses, admiring their well-kept gardens and their unmatched view of the Osorno and Puntiagudo volcanoes. Optionally you can access the German Colonial Museum that shows the life of the settlers or enjoy a coffee with a typical German pastry from this area. On its waterfront, we will observe the Lake Theater where the famous “Frutillar Musical Weeks” are held annually with worldwide attendance. From here we will head to Puerto Octay, also located on the north shore of the lake, marked by German influence and first port of exit for agricultural products towards Osorno. We will tour its old streets and Plaza de Armas. Arrival at the Hotel.
